Private Lessons give violin and viola students dedicated one-on-one instruction focused on exactly what they need to grow. Private violin and viola lessons are currently available.

Private Lessons give students personalized attention to solve problems, strengthen technique, develop musical expression, and become more confident musicians.

Each term includes weekly Private Lessons and Studio Masterclasses with specialized guest instructors.

Studio Masterclasses give students opportunities to work with instructors beyond their regular teacher, receive specialized feedback, explore new approaches to their playing, and learn alongside other Key to Change musicians.

Private 30

$750 per term

One 30-minute Private Lesson each week
7 Studio Masterclasses with specialized guest instructors

Private 60

$1,500 per term

One 60-minute Private Lesson each week
7 Studio Masterclasses with specialized guest instructors
More individual time for technique, challenging repertoire, auditions, and performance preparation
Personalized instruction based on your goals and needs

Financial aid is available for qualifying South King County families.Students who live outside South King County are welcome to study at Key to Change. Out of Network tuition applies to students living outside South King County who enroll in Private Lessons, Group Lessons, Combo Lessons, or the Young Artist Academy.

Private students also participate in Studio Classes throughout the term.

Studio Class gives students the opportunity to work with accomplished musicians and educators beyond their regular teacher, receive specialized feedback, explore different approaches to their playing, and learn from other musicians in the studio.

These experiences expose students to new ideas and perspectives while giving them the opportunities to perform, receive feedback, and grow more confident as musicians

Lesson Options

Our students learn various styles of music in a diverse and healthy environment. Each student is taught by a renowned university professor who help you make major progress in a matter of weeks. Our curriculum is designed to give you confidence and teach you to be responsible, caring musicians who are role models in your schools and communities.

We offer a range of lesson options, so you can pick the one that fits you best. Scholarships are available for each option.
