Status:  Full-time, 40 hours per week

Salary: $71,400 – $74,886, plus benefits (medical, dental, vision) and retirement plan (matching up to 4%)

About the Role

Key to Change is looking for a multi-channel Communications & Digital Marketing Manager who is excited about world-class music instruction for underserved youth. This person will oversee the development and distribution of all communications and marketing efforts, including the organization’s website, social media, email newsletters, and various campaigns and initiatives. This critical role will work with a highly motivated and collaborative small team to expand student enrollment, increase donations, and drive brand awareness. Good taste and attention to detail are essential.

This person supervises our Creative Content Manager, works closely with our Executive Director and Development Officer, and manages collaborations with external vendors and contractors such as graphic designers and web developers.

As a non-profit music education organization, Key to Change is committed to cultivating meaningful relationships, providing an accessible range of violin and viola lessons, and demonstrating accountability and excellence in all aspects of classical music and education.

Key Priorities and Responsibilities

General [25%]

  • Maintain and evolve a consistent and compelling brand voice, look, and feel.
  • Develop multi-channel marketing strategies, campaigns, and plans that advance the organization’s goals with clear KPIs.
  • Create and execute all PR efforts, including the development of pitches and media cultivation.
  • Concept and write all materials, including flyers, advertisements, annual reports, and more; as needed, work with outside graphic designers to produce these pieces.
  • Analyze and evaluate end-to-end user experience across multiple channels and customer touch points.
  • Recruit, select, orient, train, and develop employees communications and marketing staff as needed.
  • Manage and grow the organization’s photo and video library, including file repository and photo/video releases, and produce photo/video shoots. 
  • Distribute promotional materials such as posters and flyers on school campuses and in other community gathering places.

Social Media Production and Management (30%)

  • Manage and collaborate with our Creative Content Manager on a wide range of videos for various platforms and purposes.
  • Create, proof and publish content across social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, LinkedIn).
  • Build relationships with influencers, respond to comments, and interact with other accounts. Manage Key to Change’s presence on Google, Yelp, and other audience development platforms.
  • Build, implement, and track social media ad campaigns and boosted posts.
  • Report back to staff on social media data and use it to inform future content.

Website Support [15%]

  • Write, edit, and publish all web content, including regular blog posts and other updates, via WordPress CMS.
  • Maintain online event calendars with details, descriptions, and images.
  • Increase site traffic through SEO/SEM, outreach, Google ads, and more. 
  • Plan, execute, and measure A/B and conversion tests as needed.
  • Create and track online lead magnets.
  • Review Google Analytics data and report to staff on findings.

Email Support [30%]

  • Plan, write, build, and ploy all emails sent via Mailchimp.de
  • Maintain mailing lists.
  • Analyze Mailchimp data to inform increased reach and efficacy over time.

Knowledge/Abilities/Requirements

  • Strong commitment to the values and mission of Key to Change 
  • Experience managing an organization’s brand and communications across multiple platforms 
  • Strong proficiency with WordPress, Google Ads, Mailchimp, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. (Video editing skills are a plus.)
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in content and social media.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to speak with members of the Key to Change community by phone
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize, manage, and meet deadlines effectively
  • Familiarity with office technology (Salesforce, MS Office, Google Suite, Zoom, Slack, etc.)
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Desire to take full ownership of assigned projects and ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Commitment to a healthy, collaborative work environment

Preferred

  • 5+ years related experience
  • Experience in sales or fundraising
  • Excellent writing and copy editing skills 
  • Great taste and strong experience in directing graphic design 
  • Bachelor’s degree

Work Environment and Conditions

This is a full-time (40 hours a week) non-exempt position, which includes working some evening and weekend hours (2-3 events per month). Applicants will need to have flexibility in work hours. The Key to Change team works in our Renton office for in-person work and events. This position is great for someone who is looking to grow professionally in a mission-based organization.

Compensation

Salary is between $71,400 and $74,886. Generous benefits, including health and dental insurance, a retirement plan and PTO package, including vacation time and sick leave.
